Description:
Located 100 km to the east of Prague on the Labe River, Pardubice is the capital of the Pardubice region of the Czech Republic. The city has long been an important industrial centre, and now it is also home to a large electronic equipment plant and a computer parts factory. The Foxconn Group in Europe, a global leader in full-scale IT solutions, set up its regional production headquarters in Pardubice, and Foxconn CZ is now one of the Czech Republic’s leading companies. The automotive sector in Pardubice has also been given a big boost, as the partnership between Toyota and PSA Peugeot Citroen (TPCA) resulted in the investment of CZK 50 billion towards the construction of a vehicle manufacturing plant in the region. The University of Pardubice is currently home to nearly 8,000 students. The institution is renowned for its scientific and research activities, and is becoming a part of the European and World Higher Education Area and Research Area, so companies located in CTPark Pardubice have access to a highly skilled labour force. Pardubice is also a city of historical and cultural significance, and is home to the Great Pardubice Steeplechase, a sporting institution since 1874. The proximity of the international airport in Pardubice, the extensive road and rail network, and the convenient access to the D11 highway to Prague put CTPark Pardubice well-connected to the entire region.
